History
1990
- November 21. CV Protek is incorporated.
1991
- CV Protek engages in various business activities, including information technologies.
1992
- CV Protek reaches agreement to sign its first contract for supply of medications with Gedeon Richter, Hungary’s largest pharmaceutical company. CV Protek determines its priority business activity, which is the distribution of medical preparations.
1993
- CV Protek begins to import medications made by Hungarian Gedeon Richter. The list of suppliers expands to include contracts with other Hungarian pharmaceutical producers, such as AEGiS, Biogal, and Chinoin.
1994
- CV Protek starts working with the Russian producers of medications. First Company’s regional offices open for business in Volgograd and St. Petersburg.
1995
- For the first time ever, CV Protek becomes the leader in ratings of Russia’s pharmaceutical products’ importers as of the year’s end. The Company’s price list now includes more than 1,000 medications. CV Protek is the first among Russian pharmaceutical distributors to start using modem communications with the pharmacies.
1996
- The 20th CV Protek branch office is incorporated.
1997
- CV Protek opens one of Eastern Europe’s largest office and warehouse facilities, with an area of 25,000 sq. m, in Moscow.
1998
- According to independent ratings compiled by the Company magazine, CV Protek is among Top 20 most successful Russian companies.
1999
- Sotex production company is established as part of strategic partnership with Lek, Alkaloid, and Nycomed companies and engages in packing and packaging of medications. Subsequently, the company will form the basis of Protek’s production segment.
2000
- CV Protek is awarded the medal of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences, For the Achievements in and Contribution to the Development of New Forms of Cooperation between the Fundamental Science and Pharmaceutical Business.
- The Company is awarded the Distributor of the Year title during the Platinum Ounce 2000 First Open Contest among the pharmaceutical industry professionals.
2001
- The CV Protek regional branch network is now comprised of 39 branches and 15 regional representative offices.
- The range of products warehoused in Moscow now stands at 6,500 items. The total warehouse area owned by Protek comes to 62,000 sq.m.
- The first Rigla pharmacy is launched.
- CV Protek co-founds SoyuzFarma, the Association of Pharmaceutical Institutions.
2002
- OAO Protek (Parent Company) is established during reconstruction of the Group. OAO Protek consolidates the ownership of stakes of shares/stakes in share capitals of its subsidiaries and affiliates.
2003
- Gazon, a new office and warehouse facility with an area of 18,000 sq.m, is launched in Moscow.
- Protek-SVM, substance distributor and contractual producer of medications, is established.
- Promofarm, a marketing company for the pharmaceutical producers and trademark holders, is incorporated.
2004
- CV Protek’s cash flow exceeds USD 1.2 billion.
- CV Protek’s total warehouse area exceeds 100,000 sq.m.
- Spargo Technologies, the developer of information technology services for the pharmaceutical market participants, is incorporated.
2005
- CV Protek becomes one of the key partners of the government in implementing the Additional Medical Provision (DLO) program for benefit recipients.
- A Sotex production plant to produce ampoule forms, with the capacity of up to 100 million ampoules a year, is commissioned in the Sergiyev-Posad district, Moscow region. The production facility was designed and built in accordance with the European GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) production standards.
- Rigla pharmacy chain ranks No. 2 among Russia’s pharmacy chains in terms of sales.
2006
- Bonded loan by Protek-Finance in the amount of RUB 5 billion was successfully placed. Most of the funds raised had been channeled for the development of the Retail Sales segment.
- Protek commissions the first phase (27,000 palette holders) of the terminal for customs and warehouse processing of pharmaceuticals at the Transservice Customs Warehouse Terminal in the Pushkino district, Moscow region.
- Rigla begins to re-brand its pharmacies.
2007
- Getting of the IFRS auditors report by PwC for the 2006 IFRS financial statements of the Group.
- Commissioning of the Transservice customs and warehouse terminal with the warehousing area of 56,000 sq.m., with a modern automated line of order collection for customers based in Moscow, Moscow Region and some regions of the Central district.
- Integration of the O3 pharmacy chain into Rigla chain; rebranding of O3 pharmacies under the Rigla brand.
- Commissioning of new procurement facilities in regions (St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk).
- Launch of two own brands in Sotex.
- Final settlement by Ingosstrakh Insurance Co. of the loss event of CV Protek. The total indemnity came circa USD 75 million, or some 1.97 billion roubles.
2008
- CV Protek distributor leads the aggregate rating of pharmaceutical distributors.
- CV Protek company launched interregional logistics centers in Samara, Kazan, Novosibirsk, Voronezh within new logistics structure.
- Acquisition by CV Protek of AS-Buro distributor (Ekaterinburg).
- CV Protek and Rigla pharmacy chain got the “Health Idea” prize for health promotion and improvement of quality of life.
- CV Protek is recognized by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation as a reliable partner.
- Rigla pharmacy chain started implementation of pharmaceutical insurance programs.
- Rigla pharmacy chain opened the first children’s pharmacy.
- Rigla pharmacy chain is recognized as Trademark No. 1 in Russia in the national contest.
- Sotex launched a line of pre-filled syringes for production of innovative Russian-made bio-engineering medications. Production of Eralfon has been started.
- Sotex joins Top Three leaders in the rating of Russian manufacturing companies by the aggregate indicator based on CMP Pharmexpert.
2009
- Protek-Finance successfully passed a call-option of its bonds.
- Distributor CV Protek won the Platinum Ounce award as the Company of the year.
- Rigla pharmacy chain won the Platinum Ounce award in the Pharmacy chain category.
- CV Protek brought in a new logistical system based on Interregional logistic centers.
- Rigla pharmacy chain became a co-founder of the Pharmacy Guild Non-commercial Partnership for pharmacy branch promotion.
- Rigla pharmacy chain and Ingosstrakh Insurance brought in the unique insurance product called Pharmacy.
- Sotex company entered the top five of leading Russian manufacturers of pharmaceutical products.
- President of the Protek Group Mr. Vadim Muzyaev won the Person of the year international award in category Contribution to the pharmaceutical industry development.
- Chairman of the Board of Directors of ĪĄĪ Protek Mr. Vadim Yakunin established "Saint Bishop Gregory the Theologian" Fund.
2010
- Protek Group placed the shares in the stock market.
- Protek Group became the owner of the 51 % of the pharmacy chain Zhivika, and also got the 4 pharmacy chains: Panaceya in St. Petersburg and it’s region, Biofarm and New Pharmacy in Yaroslavl, TK TOKO in Novokuibyshevsk of the Samara region.
- Pharmacy chain Rigla started up the new pharmacy brand - the discounter network Be Healthy.
- The own brand of the Sotex company the medical drug Eralfon took the first place in the rating of the prescription medicines according to the results of the year2009.
- Sotex enlarged the export market and started exporting of the medicals abroad.
- Rigla pharmacy chain started the line of goods under their own trademark.
- CV Protek modernized server based platforms on the basis of the IBM systems.
- Rigla pharmacy chain started up “The Pharmacy of Future” in Moscow, equipped with a first in the world SPA-cabinet of the Vichy laboratory.
- Protek Group and NP CVT HimRar concluded the contract for strategic partnership.
- Sotex started issue of their new brand - medical product Likferr100.
- Rigla pharmacy chain started working on the partnership program concerning the opening of pharmacies in the Magnolia grocery stores.
- Rigla pharmacy chain became the partner of the largest Russian loyalty program “Communication Club”.
- Rigla opened up the first shop of the goods for mothers and babies “Little, little and less”.
